This acrylic filter blocks 100% of the blue light emitted from today’s computers and televisions. LowBlueLights manufactures the only 100% blue light blocking-filter on the market.  Acrylic filters do not allow touchscreen capability due to their thickness.  Please see our lline of vinyl filters if touchscreen use is desired. 

This filter measures 20.8″ x 14.94″. While optimized to fit an Apple iMac 21.5″ monitor, this filter can be used over any screen smaller than 20.3 x 14.44″. If the filter is larger than the frame of a device, it’s not an issue. The filter simply needs to extend beyond the active screen area (illuminated portion) by approximately 1/2″ which prevents light from escaping past its edges. It’s better to be too large than too small. Most laptops permit the filter to sit on the unit’s hinge without the need for velcro. The velcro is included to hold filters in place when used on larger screens and monitors.

The filter is intended to be used in the evening in the hours before bedtime.  In order to gain benefits this filter must be used in complete darkness or used in combination with our no-blue light bulbs. Blue light emitted from normal light bulbs, TVs, computers and mobile devices suppresses the body’s melatonin production affecting sleep and overall health. If our Sleep Glasses are worn, filters or light bulbs are not necessary.  Sleep Glasses are the ultimate solution. It’s important to note if you must get up during the night, Sleep Glasses or a blue-free light source must be used otherwise benefits gained earlier will be negated.
