This acrylic filter blocks 100% of the blue light emitted from today’s computers and televisions. LowBlueLights manufactures the only 100% blue light-blocking filters on the market today.
Acrylic filters do not allow touchscreen capability due to their thickness. Please see our line of vinyl filters if touchscreen use is desired.
This filter measures 12.35″x 8.15″ and can be used over any screen with an active area smaller than 11.35″ x 7.15″ If the filter is larger than the actual frame of a device, it’s not an issue. The filter simply needs to extend beyond the active screen area (illuminated portion) by approximately 1/2″ per side to prevent light from escaping beyond its edges. It’s far better to be larger than too small. While most laptops permit the filter to rest on the unit’s hinges without the need for any type of adhesion, velcro is included with this filter to hold it in place when installed on larger screens and monitors.
The filter is intended to be used in the evening in the hours leading to bedtime. In order to gain benefits this filter must be used in complete darkness or in combination with our no-blue light bulbs. Blue light emitted from today’s bulbs, TV screens, computers and mobile devices suppresses the body’s melatonin production ultimately affecting one’s sleep and overall health. If our Sleep Glasses are being worn, filters or light bulbs are not necessary. Sleep Glasses are in fact the ultimate solution. It’s important to note that if you need to be up during the night, Sleep Glasses or blue-free light sources must be used otherwise benefits gained earlier will be negated.
